Games You Can Pack Without Thinking Twice

Updated: Apr 17

Getting ready to travel? Here are some of the easiest games to travel with:

1.      Standard Deck of 52 Playing Cards

A waterproof version I found on Amazon: https://amzn.to/4chs1P3

·       Fits just about anywhere, even in most pockets!

·       Extremely versatile, with a little creativity, you won’t run out of ideas.

2.     Flip-7

A version I found on Amazon: https://amzn.to/4cQ3hgR

·       Slightly larger than a desk of playing cards but still small enough that it won’t take up a lot of space in your bag.

·       Great option if you want a game that’s cheap and lots of fun! It's a big hit in my friend group!

3.     Uno

A beautiful retro deck off Amazon for: https://amzn.to/4e0qUEN

·       A classic game that fits almost anywhere.

·       You can get expansion packs now that don’t take up much space and spice the game up in interesting ways (we played with the stack pack and no hand limit and ended in a five-way tie because we ran out of cards to draw)!

4.     Skip-Bo

If you want to buy this game, I own this version from Amazon: https://amzn.to/4sFoIG6

·       Takes up more space than any game I’ve listed so far, but still fits in your bag pretty easily

·       It’s easy to learn, if you’ve never played before. Can be pretty hit or miss in a gaming group though.

5.     Phase Ten

A classic I found on Amazon: https://amzn.to/3Qv4Fge

·       Usually takes up about the same amount of space as an Uno deck.

·       I’m a big fan, it’s one of the few games my family always used to pack on vacations, so it’s a good bit of nostalgia for me.

·       I’ve found this game is also pretty hit or miss in a game group though.

6.     Clue: The Card Game

A version I found on Amazon: https://amzn.to/3OIq19v

·       A classic board game adapted to be travel friendly in a deck you can carry easily.

·       Plays similar enough to the board game that it’s easy to learn.

7.     Cards Against Humanity

The version I bought on Amazon: https://amzn.to/4dVlZ7U

·       Takes up more space than any other game on the list so far.

·       What feels like an endless supply of expansion packs to choose from.

·       Great for making people laugh!

8.     The Oregon Trail Card Game

I couldn't find the version I own, but here's a harder version on my "Buy Later" list: https://amzn.to/3OPYp2d

·       Doesn’t take up too much space.

·       A great co-op experience! Be wary of table space though, we ran out and had to improvise!

9.     Read the Room

·       An adult party game that’s’ good for getting to know the people in your group.

·       What weird opinions do your friends have? Find out!

10.  Betrayal Deck of Lost Souls

Here's a listing I found on Amazon: https://amzn.to/4tq3EF4

·       Relatively small box.

·       Probably the most complicated game on the list. But, once you’ve learned how to play, it’s a great game to re-visit!

There’s a travel friendly game out there for any taste. You can never go wrong with a classic game, but there are plenty of options if you want something new to add to your travel rotation!
